Time: 11:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. (potluck at first meeting; last meeting TBD. All others are brown bag).
Location: Community Room
Course Fee: $5.00
Facilitator: Lynne Killgore
When the third Monday reading group was first started, we used a book titled Listening for the Spirit. After reading several years worth of that series, we are now on our second year of working our way through an anthology of short stories from Beacon Press titled A Celestial Omnibus.
We still usually meet on the third Monday of the month from 11:00 a.m.—12:30 p.m., September through May or June, and everyone feels free to bring a bag lunch. We start and end the reading year with a potluck lunch. Occasionally we have other potlucks or lunches out as the mood and life strikes us. We are also realistic about people’s lives and adjust our meetings around those facts.
Our October meeting, where we will be reading John Updikes’s Pigeon Feathers, has been moved to the 5th Monday, October 29. In November we return to our regular day, November 19, and will read God’s World by Najib Mahfuz.
If you are interested in joining our reading group, please let me know. The book is either available in the church bookstore or can be ordered.
We welcome new voices, opinions, and ideas.
